Rocky is the owner and founder of Rocky Mountain Equine Therapy LLC. He was born and raised in Northern Michigan and joined the Army when he was 18, he moved around a lot and started working with horses at his first duty station in Georgia. He then went to Germany and found a place close to his station while in Germany then continued onto Colorado where he left the military for medical issues and followed his passion of working with horses full time. Rocky trained 100’s of horses in Colorado, Wyoming and Michigan learning different styles of horsemanship, with a plethora of breeds and ages increasing the way he is able to adapt to each horse. In January of 2026, he created Rocky Mountain Equine Therapy LLC, getting certified in Cryotherapy, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF), Red light/Cold Laser, Kinesiology Taping, and Thermal Imaging. Rocky is currently attending LCAO for equine Osteopath, Holistic Animal studies with Dr. Angel to get massage, cranial sacral, lymphatic drainage, ANMR and Acupressure.
Rocky’s Mission is to provide convenient, professional, individualized equine wellness and performance-support services that help horse owners better understand their horses' physical condition, support recovery, and maintain their horses' comfort and performance in partnership with their existing veterinary and equine-care teams.
a WORD ON THE TRAIL
As a rider, my horses are so much more than the animals I compete on. Crossfire, Pinto Bean, Sizzle, and Yeti are my teammates, my partners, and a huge part of my life. I ask a lot of them, and because of that, I believe it’s my responsibility to do everything I can to take care of their bodies and keep them feeling their best
That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about Rocky Mountain Equine Therapy.
I’ve learned that keeping my horses feeling good shouldn’t only happen when something is wrong. Preventative wellness and consistent maintenance are a huge part of my program. Between hauling, training, competing, and everything we ask of our horses, I want to be proactive about their care rather than waiting until they need it.
Rocky Mountain Equine Therapy has become a part of that routine for my horses, with modalities such as cryotherapy, MagnaWave, red light therapy, and other equine wellness therapies. I love having different options available depending on what each horse needs and where they are in their training or competition schedule.
Every horse is different, and that’s something I’ve learned more and more throughout my time riding. What works for Crossfire may not be exactly what Pinto Bean, Sizzle, or Yeti need. Knowing that I have ways to support each of them as individuals means so much to me.
I’m incredibly proud to be a sponsored rider for Rocky Mountain Equine Therapy and to share something I genuinely believe in. My horses give me everything they have when we walk into the arena, and I want to give them that same level of commitment in return.
For me, taking care of my horses isn’t just about getting them ready for the next run. It’s about keeping them feeling their best, supporting their longevity, and giving them the opportunity to have long, healthy careers doing what they love.
My horses are my partners, and they deserve the very best.

Our Services
Localized Cryotherapy
We use liquid CO2 to cool down an area in a matter of seconds and not minutes unlike the traditional ice or cold hosing. Liquid CO2 is -108 degrees Fahrenheit allowing us to cool an area to 39 degrees Fahrenheit which is the optimal temperature for recovery.
Benefits and uses:
Pain relief
Reduction in inflammation and heat
Oxygen and nutrient replenishment
Reduce recovery time
Laminitis
Cellulitis
Strains
Arthritis
Muscle soreness/Lameness
Post work out
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF)
PEMF uses short targeted burst of electromagnetic energy to interact with the bodies natural electrical system and helping in recharging of cells. It can travel up to 16" into the body helping the deeper muscles that cannot be reached with massage alone. PEMF is a non-invasive treatment to help in recovery.
Benefits and uses:
Supports cellular function
Helps with circulation
Promotes faster recovery
Helps remove waste and bring in fresh nutrients
Loosen tight muscles and tendons
Pain relief
Muscle recovery
Joint and arthritis support
Bone recovery
Relaxation
Reduce inflammation
Red-Light Therapy
We have two types of red-light we offer. There is the handheld unit we offer that is applied to targeted areas. This unit offers 650nm, 810nm and 980nm along with continuous and pulsed mode for different protocols. This offers red light and IR wavelengths. The other type we offer is our equine LTS which covers a bigger area quicker compared to our handheld unit. The LTS offers blue light, red-light and IR all at the same time. The wavelengths of this unit are 450nm, 660nm, and 850nm. The blue light targets surface level helping with antibacterial, wound healing, and fungus issues. Red light helps with circulation, cell repair and regeneration, inflammation, soreness and stiffness. IR helps with deeper tissues and muscles, cell metabolism and regeneration, tendons, joints, and bones.
Benefits and uses:
Cell regeneration, metabolism and repair
Muscle relaxation
Antibacterial
Fungus
Arthritis
Wound recovery
Soft tissue recovery
Inflammation
Pain management
Circulation
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping is used in support and stability to help in the natural healing of the body. We use EquiTecs tape for our taping needs. We have two-way stretch to help with neurosensory activation, muscle support, fascia, decompression, and circulatory response. We also use four-way tap for biomechanics correction and structural support. Two-way tape can stay on until it falls off where four-way tape should be replace every 5 days and area be cleaned since it is not as playable as two-way.
Benefits and uses:
Circulation
Muscle relaxation
Muscle activation
Decompression
Support
Biomechanics correction
Fascia
Pain relief
Thermal Imaging
Thermal Imaging uses IR to see heat patterns over the body, helping to identify areas to watch or work on. When doing this we can see before and after and see how the different modalities help with the rehab process of the horse. This works on near surface areas only not deeper muscles.
Benefits and uses:
Saddle fitting
Hoof balance
Inflammation
Areas of concern
Rehab progression
Hot spot detection that palpation can’t
Please remember to consult your veterinarian with all your medical needs and to get diagnosed. These modalities are here to help with a veterinarian diagnosis and should not replace the medical needs of your horse they are here to help with medical practices of a veterinary. As we are not veterinarians.
